PLUM CITY - Mel Pittman has earned the endorsement of Volunteers for Agriculture Committee in his campaign for the 31st Senate District. VFA is the political action arm of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation.
If elected, Pittman would be the only farmer in the Wisconsin State Senate.
In response, Pittman issued the following statement:
"It's a great honor to earn the support of the Farm Bureau. As a lifelong farmer and leader in the agriculture community, I understand the concerns farmers face and the role state government can play. As a committed conservationist, I understand how to help farmers prosper while protecting our precious natural resources and ensuring clean water for our families.
"I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting to work on behalf of the farmers in our district and throughout the state.
"If entrusted with the responsibility of representing the people of the 31st Senate District, I pledge to be the voice of agriculture down in Madison," Pittman said.
